Responders play an important role in helping us fulfill our role in protecting and responding to natural and cultural resources when they are under threat. These responders are recruited from the various Bureaus within DOI. This list, maintained by the National Park Service (NPS) Emergency Incident Coordination Center (EICC), has names of responders. When activated, ESF #11 NCH turns to a list of responders to help fulfill the MA that FEMA assigns to DOI. Responders are either Federal employees working for one of the bureaus within the Department of the Interior (DOI) or for one of the ESF #11 NCH partner agencies, or personnel working for one of our partner organizations. Travel and overtime will be covered by FEMA, while base salary will still be covered by their home office. These individuals are volunteers only in that they voluntarily sign up to serve during a disaster. So, if you are a passionate programmer with expertise in C++, and you want to work in a technical and creative environment to build commercially successful software, then NCH could be the right place for you.ESF #11 NCH relies on volunteer responder to staff the Mission Assignments (MA) that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) assigns. Many of our products are originally based on ideas from employees. If the idea can hold water, then you may find yourself in charge of the development of a brand new product. Have an idea for a product? Discuss it directly with the CEO. This feeds the creative energy of the company since we are not at the mercy of client wish lists and constant change management cycles. We don't take commissions to work on one off products. We sell direct to the home and professional market. This is one of the best aspects of programming at NCH - your constant connection to the end product. This means you will work on new features, bug fixing, GUI design, architecture, optimization etc etc. After you have cut your teeth learning our C++ library and software products, you can expect to become personally responsible for one or more of our software products. At NCH we have a very different approach. Most programmers are familiar with jobs where they work on small components which are then plugged into ever growing feature sets of massive products. I have now worked for NCH Software for over 6 years and seen it grow from a fledgling operation with 8 employees to a global force with over 70 employees across several countries.
